Music Minister joins us Sun Jan 1 in view of a call.
We are pleased to announce that this Sunday morning, January 1st, we will be presenting a candidate to the church for the Minister of Music position. We will have a church-wide greeting time at 8:45-9:15a in the fellowship hall and we'll have a vote immediately following our Sunday morning service.
Come worship with us at 10:15am and see God bring glory to himself at CBCNLR.
Join us in E100 Bible Reading Challenge
The New Year is just days away and many of you are thinking this is the year that you will read the entire Bible. We start with great gusto in Genesis 1:1 but within weeks get bogged down somewhere in Leviticus. So perhaps it is time for a fresh approach to reading God's Word.
This year we are challenging the church to join together and take the E100 Bible Reading Challenge.
What is the E100 Challenge?
The Essential 100 (E100) is a Bible Reading plan developed by Scripture Union that is comprised of 100 carefully selected passages that combine to give you a big picture view of the Bible. It's a reading plan that is designed to be approachable, achievable, and enjoyable.
At the end of April we will recognize everyone that has completed the E100 challenge and we want you to be part of that celebration. Even more so we want you to experience the life changing power of God's Word in your own life.
How to participate
Here's how you can stay on schedule and track your participation:
- Pickup a E100 challenge progress card at the Welcome Booth in our gathering area.
- Read the E100 verses through your smartphone with the free YouVersion Bible App.
- Receive the E100 verses via email from YouVersion

The 2011 Challenge to give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
2011 Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®
Our 2011 theme is “His heart, His voice, His hands – I am Southern Baptist missions.” It reminds us that as followers of Jesus, we – the Church – are called to be the body of Christ. We are His heart, His hands and His voice in the midst of a world filled with unreached peoples. We are part of the task to fulfill the Great Commission. And although we Southern Baptists have been praying, giving and going for 160 years, the task is far from finished.
Just take a look-
Fast facts about lostness
Here’s a global snapshot of the work ahead of us:
- 6,744 people groups are considered unreached (less than 2 percent profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; as reported April 2011)
- 3,789 people groups are not engaged at all with the Gospel (as reported April 2011)
- More than half the world’s people live in cities. Most unreached people groups likely are represented in the world’s urban centers.
- 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22 percent of the world’s population
There is much work to be done. With more than 45,000 churches in the Southern Baptist Convention, the task is doable, but it will take all of us.
Will your gift make a difference?
Every penny given to Lottie Moon is used to help support about 5,000 Southern Baptist missionaries serving overseas. Last year, those missionaries reported 360,876 baptisms and 29,237 new churches!
This is truly kingdom building work.

How can you impact 1500 people in 5 weeks?
Help support our Food Pantry through our Food Drive.
Did you know?
- Oour Food Pantry sees nearly 20 new families a month come for assistance?
- In October alone we broke an all time record by providing food to 1844 people
... and the need is increasing.
November and December are always months where we see an increase in people and in today's economy we expect to a larger need than we ever have before. This coupled with decreased donations from partner organizations means we have a real opportunity to stand in the gap this Holiday Season.
How you can Help
Donate Non-Perishable Food
We are hosting a Food drive through the end of this year. You can drop off Non-perishable food items at drop points located at both the gathering area and side entrances. We'll be happy to unload the food from your vehicle as well, just see one of our Deacons for helping hand.
Donate Money
If you'd prefer to give money we are having a special offering this Sunday Morning, Nov 20, following our morning worship service. Deacons will be posted at the exits with offering plates and all donations will go directly to the Food Pantry.
We get busy and forget to bring cans as well so this is a great way to help. Your financial gift allows us to buy food in bulk and stretch the money even further.
if you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
then shall your light rise in the darkness Isaiah 58:10
However you choose to get involved, we thank you, and ask you to pray that God will continue to direct our resources and time to serve those in need through our Food Pantry.
In remembrance of Reformation Day
“Unless I am convinced by Scripture or by clear reasoning that I am in error…I cannot recant, for I am subject to the Scriptures I have quoted; my conscience is captive to the Word of God. It is unsafe and dangerous to do anything against ones conscience. Here I stand. I cannot do otherwise. So help me God. Amen.”
-Martin Luther at the Diet of Worms
On this day in 1517 Martin Luther is reported to have placed a copy of his "Disputation of Martin Luther on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences" on the door of All Saints' Church and sparked what became known as the Protestant reformation.
Help us put the Giving in Thanksgiving

Dishes will need to be delivered to the Heritage House by 10:30am on Thanksgiving Day. Volunteers are also needed to help serve the Thanksgiving Meal.
